Playing as a guest

You do not need an account. Your progress, stars, timer and in-game messages are saved in this browser. Guest results are not added to the creator’s completion dashboard.

Signing in

Google Firebase handles Google sign-in and email/password accounts. When you start a new case while signed in with a verified email, we save your account ID, name, email, case number, start and finish times, elapsed time and result. You and the game creator can read your results. Other players cannot.

Passwords go directly to Firebase Authentication. The game does not put passwords in its database or submission spreadsheet. Authentication may use browser storage to keep you signed in; sign out on shared devices.

What stays on your device

Individual clues read, stars, theories and fictional character messages stay in your browser. Case progress does not transfer between devices. An offline result may wait in this browser until you reconnect with the same account. Old guest attempts are not attached to a new login.

Service providers and submissions

Firebase processes account and result information. The creator also keeps a private Google Sheets copy of recorded player names, emails, account IDs, case results and timings for managing the game. It refreshes periodically and is not public. Passwords and device-only game progress are not copied. The website host and its security services may process technical request information to deliver and protect the site. We have not enabled Google Analytics or advertising tracking. Scenario submissions use a separate Google Form and private response sheet; the form collects what you enter there.

Access and deletion

Your saved attempts appear on Your account. Account and result records, including the private spreadsheet copy, are kept until deleted. A verified deletion request covers both the database and the spreadsheet copy. To request a copy or deletion, use Add your Scenario, choose the existing-scenario text box and describe your privacy request. Include the account email; do not include a password. We may ask you to verify ownership before changing private records. Clearing browser data only removes local progress and sign-in state, not the account or saved results.

Questions

Use the same submission form for privacy questions. No website can promise zero risk; access controls limit who can read records, and the game collects only the information described here.
